Comprehensive Private & Household Staff Salary Guide

Our Household Staff Salary Guide begins with an in-depth review by Irving Scott, focusing on salary expectations for key roles in large households. We believe job satisfaction, personal growth, and vocation are all important factors that make a career in private service rewarding.

However, we understand that financial incentives are the primary motivation leading talented individuals to pursue this line of work. We aim to provide clarity on how much money newcomers can expect to earn and the potential salary growth within a year and five years of starting a position in service. This information is key to encouraging those with the right skill set to consider a profession in this sector.

Typically, a household employee’s salary is based on two main factors: the amount of experience the candidate brings to the position and the responsibilities included in the job description. The location of the role – whether it’s in London, the countryside or an international location – also plays a crucial role in defining a pay package.

Butler: A Key Role in the Household Staff Salary Guide
