Live in Couple - SW France

Caretaker Couple | Historic Private Mas | Near Nîmes, Languedoc | Live-In | €5,000 net/month combined

An exceptional private estate in the Languedoc countryside is seeking an experienced, dedicated caretaker couple for a long-term live-in position. The property is a beautifully maintained 12th-century stone farmhouse set on 1.5–2 hectares of Mediterranean gardens, olive grove, and woodland — a secondary residence managed on the owner's behalf.

The roles:

Ms. — Interior & Household Management

• Full responsibility for interior presentation and organisation of the main house and guest house
• Laundry, linen care, and preparation of guest accommodation ahead of arrivals
• Day-to-day coordination with the existing resident housekeeper
• Occasional meal preparation when owners or guests are present

Mr. — Grounds & Property Maintenance

• Day-to-day upkeep of 1.5–2 hectares of grounds, Mediterranean gardens, orchard, and olive grove
• Routine maintenance, minor repairs, and property security
• Liaison with specialist external contractors

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years' experience managing a private rural property, ideally in France or a Mediterranean setting
• French-speaking essential; English or Spanish an advantage
• Both hold a valid driving licence
• Genuine love of animals (1 dog, 5 cats on the property)
• Verifiable written and telephone references from previous private employers
• Right to work in France

Package: €5,000 net/month combined, plus a fully independent 3-bed/2-bath house with terrasse and countryside views, and all utilities — total estimated package value €6,500–€7,000/month. Permanent contract under French employment law. Work vehicle provided.
