Our Process
A proven, six-step approach refined over 13 years and over 500 successful placements. No shortcuts, no compromises — just meticulous matching that lasts.
For Families
We listen before we search.
Every placement begins with a confidential conversation — by phone, video, or in person — where we learn about your household, lifestyle, and what matters most to you in a candidate. We discuss the role scope, salary expectations, and timeline so there are no surprises later.
Rigorous vetting, not database matching.
We draw from our pre-vetted database of experienced household professionals and conduct targeted headhunting when needed. Every candidate undergoes in-depth interviews, right-to-work verification, and a minimum five years of reference checks.
Quality over quantity — typically 3–5 candidates.
Within a few days, we present a curated shortlist with detailed profiles, our honest assessment of each candidate, and specific reasons why we believe they suit your household. No padding, no filler — only people we would confidently place in our own homes.
We coordinate everything.
We arrange interviews at your convenience, prepare candidates thoroughly, and provide honest feedback after each meeting. For roles where chemistry matters — chefs, nannies, live-in staff — we strongly recommend paid trial periods of one to five days.
We handle the paperwork.
Once you have chosen your candidate, we facilitate the offer, negotiate terms if needed, and provide guidance on employment contracts, tax obligations, and employer responsibilities. Our tax calculator and employer's guide are useful references at this stage.
We don't disappear after day one.
We check in regularly during the first three months to ensure both parties are happy, address any concerns early, and provide mediation if needed. All permanent placements come with our replacement guarantee — if it doesn't work out, we find someone new at no additional cost.
For Candidates
We guide you through every step — from registration to placement — with honest advice and genuine support.
Submit your profile with your CV, experience, and preferences. We review every application personally.
If your profile matches current or anticipated requirements, we invite you for a face-to-face interview to understand your skills, goals, and working style.
All candidates undergo five-year reference verification, qualification authentication, and right-to-work documentation.
When a suitable position arises, we brief you in detail and — with your permission — present your profile to the family. We never share your details without consent.
We prepare you for interviews, provide feedback, and coordinate paid trial periods so both you and the family can assess the fit.
Once you accept an offer, we support your transition — from contract review to relocation assistance — and stay in touch throughout your probation period.
Why Irving Scott
Senior consultants handle every placement from start to finish. You won't be passed between departments or left chasing updates.
As The Sunday Times put it, we're "as good at psychology as staff." We match personality, values, and working style — not just qualifications.
Five-year references, qualification verification, and in-person interviews. We present only candidates we'd trust in our own homes.
Every permanent placement is backed by our guarantee. If it doesn't work out within the guarantee period, we find a replacement at no additional cost.
