We are currently recruiting for a highly-skilled butler for a high-net-worth individual (HNWI) in Central London.

Job Title: Elite Household Butler
Location: NW London
Reports to: House Manager
Job Purpose:
As an Elite Household Butler, you will be responsible for seamlessly managing the household and attending to the needs of the principal, their family, and guests when the House Manager is unavailable. You will reside within the residence when the principal is present and will be accountable for executing all reasonable instructions provided by the principal, their family, and guests. You will report directly to the House Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wardrobe management and organisation
- Coordinating and communicating with the House Manager
- Supervising all household and external service providers in the absence of the House Manager
- Managing the principal’s appointments, diaries, schedules, and calendars
- Packing and unpacking for the principal, their family, and guests
- Answering phone calls, taking messages, and handling correspondence related to the principal, their family, and guests
- Providing comprehensive valet services, such as setting tables for formal and informal events, shoe polishing, and maintaining the en-suite bathroom to the principal’s exacting standards
- Ensuring appropriate seating arrangements for family and guests
- Overseeing contracted maintenance, cleaning, and security services for the household in the absence of the House Manager
- Managing security codes, and passwords, and performing other security-related tasks
- Designing menus, coordinating meal times, and making restaurant reservations for the principal, their family, and guests
- Organising dinner parties, cocktail gatherings, and business meetings for the principal, their family, and guests
- Providing cover for the Houseman during their days off or absences
- Maintaining adequate stock and supplies in the breakout kitchen, leisure centre, and all other relevant areas of the house, including food, beverages, and essential items
- Preparing shopping lists according to the principal’s preferences
- Caring for and preserving crystal, silverware, and artwork
- Managing the wine cellar and inventory
- Ensuring all areas of the household, especially those frequented by the principal, are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness
- Welcoming and attending to the principal, their guests, and visitors
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and other third parties
- Managing petty cash and maintaining accurate records
- Addressing issues related to the principal’s laundry and clothing
- Ensuring all household equipment is functional and well-maintained
- Collaborating with the House Manager to coordinate outside maintenance contractors, workmen, and builders
- Implementing efficient household practices and procedures
- Arranging secure travel for the principal, their family, and guests
- Managing storage solutions and organization
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and addressing health and safety concerns
- Ensuring compliance with Covid-19 protocols, including wearing gloves and face coverings in the household and providing adequate PPE for family, guests, and visitors
Requirements:
- Preferably a qualification from a recognised and approved Butler Institution
- Solid educational background
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physically fit and agile
- Willingness to live in residence, mainly when the Principal is present
- Familiarity with household security systems
- Unwavering commitment to confidentiality
- Adaptable and flexible approach to work
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Valid UK right to work
- Detail-oriented and organised
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional service in a similar role
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
- Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and formal table service
- Familiarity with wine varieties and pairing recommendations
- Experience in planning and executing events
- Proficient in using technology for communication, organization, and travel arrangements
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity when interacting with guests from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a professional demeanour
- A team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry trends
- First Aid and CPR certifications are a plus
