Daily Housekeeper – Kensington

We are looking for a permanent full time housekeeper to start in April for a lovely VIP family in Kensington. The property is fully staffed and semi formal. 

You will need to have some experience of laundry as all staff will share that responsibility. Training will be given.

You must be eligible and willing to travel Europe and US for 2 or 3 weeks a year (this may or may not happen). When you travel, you are paid per diems on your travel days.

Housekeeper: 

Responsible for the hands-on cleaning tasks throughout the house. Reporting to the House Manager.

Responsible for maintaining the highest possible levels of cleanliness throughout the property: 

  • Dusting
  • Vacuum cleaning
  • Maintaining floors
  • Making beds
  • Laundry
  • Care of linens & furnishings
  • Care of metals and stonework
  • Glass cleaning
  • Polishing
  • Tidying and arranging to the families preferences

Demonstrate good organization and the ability to prioritize in order to undertake tasks in a timely manner.
Follow a daily clean routine using a good knowledge of cleaning methods and the proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Deep clean as instructed to maintain standards in all areas of the property.
Launder and press the principals clothing when needed.
Care Of fine clothing, jewellery and the family's personal accessories.
Assists in pressing, shoe polishing and jewellery polishing. Ensure valuable items are secure at all times.

The housekeeper will work in a small team of 4 housekeepers. The position is on a rota basis and shift pattern (5 days per week – 10 hour shifts with 1 hour break – shift starting times at 7am, 9am or 10am). 

Salary up to £40,000 gross per year plus discretionary bonus
Staff room and food included during lunch break
